UNSW VIRL is calling for submissions from enrolled UNSW students for science communication. Students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at UNSW may apply, with a blog of up to1000 words on any subject related to infectious diseases. Blogs may be published, and the winning blog will be chosen from published blogs. The prize will be a certificate and $500.

The judging criteria include:
1. Clarity of the blog
2. Impact and relevance of the topic
3. Persuasiveness of the argument
4. Communication of scientific concepts in simple or lay terms
5. Compliance with word count and submission deadline
6. Referencing (style may be Vancouver, or hyperlinked)
7. Highly informative blog which may be amusing or serious
